About Equestrian Sports New Zealand:
Equestrian Sports New Zealand (ESNZ) is the national sporting organisation for equestrian sport in Aotearoa New Zealand. ESNZ exists to provide safe, inclusive and enjoyable environments for members and the wider equestrian community to participate in competition and recreational equestrian pursuits at all levels of the sport.

About The Role:
Reporting to the Board, you will be responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of ESNZ, driving the delivery of organisational priorities to ensure the ongoing relevance, sustainability and success of the sport.
 
You will foster a high-performing and collaborative culture while serving as the public face of the organisation across a broad and diverse stakeholder landscape - from grassroots communities and volunteers through to high performance sport, funding agencies and international bodies.
 
Areas of responsibility include:

• Drive financial sustainability and revenue growth.
• Lead participation growth and member engagement initiatives.
• Support sustainable high performance and pathway systems.
• Strengthen stakeholder, partner and community relationships.
• Lead organisational transformation across systems and member experience.
• Champion integrity, safeguarding and welfare across the sport.

 
About You:
We are seeking an experienced leader who thrives in complex stakeholder environments and is passionate about leading people, strategy and sustainable growth. You will bring:
 

• Senior leadership experience within a complex, membership-based or multi-stakeholder environment.
• Strong commercial & financial acumen with the ability to drive long-term sustainability.
• Experience developing strategic funding, commercial & stakeholder partnerships.
• Outstanding communication & stakeholder engagement capability.
• High emotional intelligence with a visible, authentic & people-first leadership style.
• Experience leading transformation, innovation & systems improvement.
• Strong alignment with integrity, safeguarding & welfare leadership principles.
• A genuine passion for sport, community & creating positive outcomes.
