Karlayura Personnel is currently seeking experienced HV Commissioning Electricians to join Fortescue's major Decarbonisation Infrastructure Project in Western Australia.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the future of sustainable mining, working on high-voltage electrical infrastructure, pit power systems and electric vehicle charging technology.

Position Details

• Position: HV Commissioning Electrician
• Pay Rate: $105.00 per hour
• Roster: 2 weeks on / 1 week off (2:1)
• Location: FIFO – Pilbara Project Sites, WA
• Project: Decarbonisation Infrastructure

Key Responsibilities

• Commission, test and energise HV electrical systems, including switchgear, transformers and protection relays.
• Perform HV switching operations, isolations and energisation activities.
• Conduct insulation resistance, continuity, polarity and secondary injection testing.
• Troubleshoot HV/LV electrical systems and protection equipment.
• Support commissioning of pit power infrastructure and EV charging systems.
• Complete commissioning documentation and ensure compliance with electrical safety standards.

Essential Requirements

• Current WA A-Grade Electrical Licence 
• HV Switching Operator certification.
• Demonstrated experience in HV installation, testing and commissioning.
• Strong understanding of protection and control systems.
• Current CPR/LVR certification and Construction White Card.
• Valid driver's licence
• National Police clearance (12 months)
• Strong commitment to safety and compliance.

Highly Desirable

• Minimum 5 years' experience in mining, renewable energy or HV infrastructure.
• Experience preparing and executing HV switching programs.
• Knowledge of SCADA and protection relay systems (SEL, Siemens, Schneider).
• Experience with AC/DC electric vehicle charging infrastructure.
• Previous experience working on Tier 1 mining projects.
