Mobile Plant Operator – Civil / Rail Infrastructure

Join a Safety-Focused Infrastructure Team We are seeking motivated and safety-focused Mobile Plant Operators to join our team supporting the maintenance of vital access roads along a major rail corridor in the Pilbara.

Based in Dampier/Karratha, this residential position offers an excellent opportunity to operate a variety of heavy machinery while contributing to the safe and efficient movement of people, equipment and resources across critical infrastructure.

About the Role As a Mobile Plant Operator, you will play a key role in maintaining access roads throughout the rail corridor, ensuring road conditions remain safe, reliable and operational for daily use.
 
Working across multiple sites, you will operate a range of heavy equipment while maintaining high standards of safety, quality and environmental compliance.

Key Responsibilities :

• Safely and efficiently operate and maintain heavy plant equipment.
• Maintain and rehabilitate access roads along the rail corridor.
• Float and relocate equipment between project sites as required.
• Complete daily pre-start inspections and basic equipment checks.
• Identify and report equipment maintenance requirements.
• Work collaboratively with supervisors and team members to achieve project outcomes.
• Follow all site safety procedures, standards and operational requirements.
• Maintain a strong focus on quality and environmental responsibilities.

Essential Skills & Experience We are looking for candidates with proven experience operating heavy machinery within civil construction, mining, infrastructure or similar environments.
Experience operating the following equipment is highly regarded:

• CAT Graders
• Rollers
• Watercarts
• Loaders
• Heavy Combination (HC) Trucks

Must Have :

• Minimum 2 years' experience operating heavy machinery.
• Current driver's licence and relevant operating competencies.
• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage changing priorities.
• Minimum HR licence, with HC licence highly desirable.
• A strong work ethic and positive attitude.
• Ability to work a residential roster in Karratha/Dampier.
• Flexibility to travel between sites and relocate equipment when required.

Desirable Experience The following will be highly regarded:

• Experience maintaining and rehabilitating access or haul roads.
• Additional plant operating tickets, licences or certifications.
• Knowledge of preventative maintenance and minor equipment repairs.
• Experience working in rail, mining, civil, remote infrastructure or similar environments.
