Role Overview
The Manager, Employee Relations and Governance, plays a pivotal role in shaping the employee experience and ensuring compliance within the organization. This position requires a strategic thinker who can navigate complex employee relations cases while developing and implementing robust HR policies and governance frameworks with both US and Canadian client groups.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and advise on employee relations cases, including workplace investigations, performance management, and conflict resolution, with a compassionate outlook.
Collaborate with leadership to review and resolve complex, high-risk cases, ensuring fair and legally compliant practices.
Monitor trends in employee relations cases and provide data-driven insights to proactively address emerging issues.
Develop, harmonize, and maintain global and regional HR policies and compliance frameworks.
Drive the annual review process for HR policies, ensuring alignment with employment legislation and best practices.
Partner with legal and audit teams to ensure policies are current and effective.
Provide guidance and coaching to HR Business Partners and leaders on managing employee relations issues and performance management.
Design and deliver training sessions and materials to enhance ER capabilities and governance awareness across the organization.

Experience:

5-7 years of HR experience with a strong focus on employee relations and governance, particularly in Canadian and U.S. contexts; global experience is an asset.
Deep understanding of Canadian and U.S. employment legislation, workplace investigations, and policy development.
Familiarity with risk management and the ability to navigate complex legal frameworks.

Skills:

Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
High emotional intelligence with a proactive approach to HR challenges.
Ability to manage a fluctuating caseload of investigations (10-20 cases quarterly) while maintaining discretion and professionalism.
An appetite for leveraging technology, including AI, to enhance HR processes and improve efficiency.

Expectations for Success

Anticipate potential employee relations challenges and develop strategies to mitigate risks.
Foster collaboration with HR Business Partners and business leaders to ensure effective communication and support in resolving employee matters.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of HR policies and procedures, ensuring they reflect industry best practices.

Compensation and Benefits

Competitive base salary ranging from $98,000 to $115,000.
