About the role
You will form an integral part of Geotechnical Technicians and Supervisor’s teams, supporting projects in Metro & Regional areas of Perth, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne & Cairns. Projects include WA Boddington, WA Tropicana, QLD Kuranda and NSW Lake Cowal.
You will experience the best bespoke drilling plant and equipment Australia has to offer. From High reach drilling plant, spider-excavator drilling plant to new tracked Hutte and C6 drill rigs. You will bring your rope access and drilling experience, and the team will benefit from any additional skills you bring.
Key responsibilities:
- Ensuring the health & safety of self and others is always given the highest priority, to follow procedures and maintain a positive and proactive approach to safety
- Monitoring and making adjustments as required to operating variables and equipment to maintain optimum output for the processing plant
- Contributing to production goals through safe operation of fixed plant equipment
- Assisting in resolution of shutdown, breakdown or start-ups situations
- Operating and monitor the mine water treatment plant working closely with the Environmental department to meet all regulation and discharge license condition
- Identifying and managing risks to people, environment, equipment and infrastructure
- Scaling of pit walls with bars and air bags
- Installation of Rockfall barriers, cable bolts, mesh systems and geotechnical monitoring equipment
- Assisting in high reach drilling operations
- General maintenance and upkeep of site plant and equipment
- Undertaking plant inspections as per schedules
- Monitoring and recording all relevant data on shift log sheets, shift diaries and ensure all safety, environmental and safety meetings are accurately recorded
- Ensuring operating parameters are met and adjustments are made according to set operating parameters and procedures
- Providing support and timely communication to supervisors and colleagues in the optimisation of operations and maximum availability of plant equipment
Annual Rates: (Plus Super and Leave entitlements)
IRATA Level 3 Supervisor $138,403
IRATA Level 3 Geotechnical Technician $131,106
IRATA Level 2 Geotechnical Technician $120,160
IRATA Level 1 Geotechnical Technician $116,025
Roster: 2:1 & occasional Monday to Friday shifts
Transfer to similar projects on completion
About you You are an IRATA Level 1, 2 or 3 Geotechnical Rope Access Technician or Supervisor, who brings a confident and safety focused approach.
