Start Your Construction Admin Career
Business Administration Trainee | Berkeley Vale, Central Coast NSW | Full-time
The Opportunity Want to start your construction admin career and learn how a busy civil construction business runs behind the scenes?
CCGT is looking for a Business Administration Trainee to join the office team of an established civil construction company based in Berkeley Vale.
This is a great opportunity to build practical administration skills while gaining exposure to how civil construction projects are supported from the office.
No previous office or construction industry experience is required. You just need to be organised, friendly, reliable and ready to learn.
You will be employed by Central Coast Group Training (CCGT) and placed with the Host Employer for your day-to-day work. CCGT will support you throughout your traineeship while you complete a nationally recognised Certificate III in Business.
This is a full-time role working 38 hours per week.
What You’ll Actually Be Doing Your first few months will focus on learning the company’s systems, understanding how the office operates and supporting the team with everyday administration. As your confidence grows, you’ll start learning how to:
- Assist with reception and general office enquiries
- Support the day-to-day running of the office
- Complete general administration and data entry
- Prepare, organise and maintain documents and records
- Assist with office coordination tasks
- Support staff with internal administration
- Help organise meetings, events and workplace activities
- Communicate professionally with staff, suppliers and other contacts
- Use business systems, email and Microsoft Office programs
- Keep information organised and up to date
You won’t be expected to know everything on day one. The goal is to ask questions, stay organised and build your confidence as you learn.
Why This Is a Good Place to StartThis role gives you the chance to learn administration in a real civil construction business, rather than only learning the theory.
You’ll gain:
- Paid full-time employment
- A nationally recognised Certificate III in Business
- On-the-job training in an established civil construction company
- Experience across reception, administration and office coordination
- Exposure to how civil construction projects are supported behind the scenes
- Experience working as part of a small administration team
- Regular support and check-ins from CCGT
- Opportunities to build your skills and take on more responsibility over time
After your traineeship, career pathways may include Administration Assistant, Project Administrator, Project Coordinator, Procurement Assistant, Office Coordinator or other specialised construction administration roles.
What We’re Looking For This role could suit you if you:
- Organised, reliable and able to manage different priorities
- Friendly, professional and comfortable communicating with different people
- Confident using computers and willing to learn new systems
- Proactive, helpful and able to work well in a team
- Hold a current driver’s licence and have your own reliable vehicle
School projects, part-time work, volunteering, sport or other activities that show organisation, teamwork, communication or reliability are all worth including in your application.
Pay This is a paid, full-time traineeship. Current trainee rates are:
- $14.90 per hour, or approximately $566.20 per week for Year 12 School Leaver

Once qualified, your earning capacity can grow to $100,000+ per year, with higher earning potential as you move into senior project administration, project coordination, procurement or specialised construction administration roles.
