The Opportunity
Interested in working with children and starting a meaningful career in early childhood education?

CCGT is seeking Expressions of Interest from people who are keen to begin a career in the early childhood education and care sector. These opportunities may suit school leavers, career changers, or anyone who enjoys supporting children as they learn, play and grow.

Through a traineeship, you could be employed by Central Coast Group Training (CCGT) and placed with a local early childhood education service for your day-to-day work. CCGT would support you throughout your traineeship while you complete a nationally recognised qualification, such as a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care.

What You Could Be Doing
As an early childhood education trainee, you may learn how to:

• Support educators with daily routines and activities
• Help create safe, welcoming and engaging learning spaces
• Interact with children through play, stories, music and group activities
• Assist with mealtimes, rest times and general care routines
• Build positive relationships with children, families and educators
• Follow workplace health, safety and child protection procedures
• Learn how early childhood services support children’s development

You will not be expected to know everything on day one. The goal is to listen, ask questions and build your confidence over time.

• Enjoy working with children
• Are patient, kind and reliable
• Communicate well with others
• Are willing to learn and follow instructions
• Can work safely and respectfully as part of a team
• Are comfortable helping with hands-on care routines
• Have, or are willing to obtain, a Working with Children Check
• Are willing to complete any required checks or training

Experience with children through babysitting, sport, volunteering, school work placement or helping family can be worth including in your application.
