Love cars and want to learn how they work while using real tools and getting paid?

CCGT is looking for a 1st Year Apprentice Mechanic to join a busy automotive dealership in Gosford. No previous workshop experience is needed. You just need to be reliable, curious and ready to learn.

You will be employed by Central Coast Group Training (CCGT) and placed with the Host Employer for your day-to-day work. CCGT will support you throughout your apprenticeship while you complete a nationally recognised Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology.

Full-time hours are 8:00am to 4:06pm, Monday to Friday. This role is based at the dealership site in Gosford.


Your first few months will focus on learning workshop safety, getting familiar with tools and equipment, and helping qualified technicians with daily jobs.

As your skills grow, you’ll start learning how to:

• Service vehicles and complete basic maintenance
• Assist with mechanical repairs
• Learn how technicians inspect and test vehicles
• Use workshop tools and equipment safely
• Understand how a busy dealership workshop runs
• Keep your work area clean, organised and ready for the next job
• Support the team with day-to-day workshop tasks

You will not be expected to know everything on day one. The goal is to learn, ask questions and keep improving.

After your apprenticeship, career pathways may include Qualified Light Vehicle Mechanic, Automotive Technician, Diagnostic Technician, Workshop Leading Hand or Service Advisor.

School projects, work experience, sport, volunteering, car projects, hobbies or helping family all count. Include anything that shows you are reliable, practical and willing to have a go.

• $14.73 per hour, or approximately $559.55 per week for under 21, not completed Year 12

Rates are before tax and based on 38 ordinary hours per week. Your exact rate will depend on the applicable apprenticeship classification and will be confirmed before an employment offer is made. Superannuation and any applicable overtime, penalty rates and allowances are paid in addition.
