About the Opportunity

CCGT is seeking a motivated Apprentice Grounds & Maintenance Officer to join a not-for-profit aged care provider based in West Gosford.
This is a full-time apprenticeship where you will be employed and supported by Central Coast Group Training (CCGT) while completing a nationally recognised Certificate III in Parks and Gardens through on-the-job training.
You will help maintain the gardens and outdoor areas across an aged care community, keeping the grounds tidy, safe, welcoming and well cared for. This role is suited to someone who enjoys hands-on outdoor work, takes pride in neat results and understands the importance of working respectfully around residents, staff and visitors.
The role is full-time, 38 hours per week, with typical hours from approximately 7:30am to 3:36pm. Uniform is provided.
What You'll Be Doing
You will be supported throughout your apprenticeship while learning practical parks and gardens skills on the job.
Your duties may include:
- Mowing and whipper snipping lawns and outdoor areas
- Planting, mulching and pruning
- General garden maintenance and upkeep
- Keeping outdoor areas tidy, safe and presentable
- Using gardening tools and equipment safely
- Working efficiently around residents, staff and visitors
- Following workplace health and safety procedures
- Supporting the team with general grounds and maintenance tasks
This is a hands-on role in a professional, medium-paced workplace where your work helps create a welcoming environment for the aged care community.
What We're Looking For
We are looking for someone who is reliable, respectful and keen to build skills in parks and gardens.
To be considered, you will need:
- A genuine passion for gardening, grounds maintenance or outdoor work
- Reliability and a strong work ethic
- Pride in completing neat, quality work
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Friendly and respectful communication style
- Willingness to work safely around residents and staff
- Driver’s licence and reliable transport to get to and from the West Gosford site
- Any mowing or gardening experience would be helpful, but is not essential
