Apprentice Cabinetmaker

About the Opportunity
CCGT is seeking a motivated 1st Year Apprentice Cabinetmaker to join a family-owned and operated cabinetmaking business based in Gosford.
This is a full-time apprenticeship where you will be employed and supported by Central Coast Group Training (CCGT) while completing a nationally recognised qualification, such as a Certificate III in Cabinet Making and Timber Technology.
The host employer has been operating for 40 years and manufactures and installs custom kitchens, bathrooms and wardrobes across the Central Coast.
You will learn from experienced tradespeople in a supportive workshop environment, with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in both manufacturing and installation.
What You'll Be Doing
You will be supported throughout your apprenticeship while learning a range of cabinetmaking skills.
Your duties may include:
- Manufacturing cabinetry for kitchens, bathrooms and wardrobes
- Assisting with site installations and deliveries
- Using hand tools, power tools and workshop machinery
- Measuring, cutting, assembling and finishing cabinetry components
- Working with qualified tradespeople on site and in the factory
- Reading plans and following instructions
- Loading and unloading materials
- Keeping the workshop and work areas clean and safe
- Following workplace health and safety procedures
This is a hands-on role that may involve factory work, site work, deliveries and working alongside other trades.
What We're Looking For
We are looking for someone who is reliable, practical and keen to start a career in cabinetmaking.
To be considered, you will need:
- A genuine interest in cabinetmaking, joinery or working with timber
- Good attention to detail
- Willingness to learn and follow instructions
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Ability to work well as part of a team
- Confidence using basic tools, or willingness to learn
- Driver’s licence
- White Card, or willingness to obtain
- Own transport preferred
This role would suit someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in quality finishes and is ready to learn a skilled trade.
