WHO YOU’LL BE WORKING WITH...
Our Host Employer is a family-owned and highly respected wholesale nursery and flower grower specialising in Australian native wildflowers. They supply high-quality cut flowers and nursery stock to florists, wholesalers, and industry partners right across the country.
Their dedicated team works across multiple production sites, cultivating a diverse range of native species, focusing on sustainable practices, high-quality growth, and year-round demand. With decades of experience in native plant cultivation, they pride themselves on strong teamwork, continuous learning, and a passion for Australian flora.
They are now seeking a motivated, reliable and enthusiastic apprentice, whether you’re just starting out or already partway through your qualification to join their growing team and build a rewarding long-term career in horticulture.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED...
- A genuine interest in plants, horticulture, or native flora
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Good communication skills and a positive, can-do attitude
- Ability to work well both independently and in a team
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic
- Physical fitness to handle manual labour
- Current driver’s licence (highly desirable due to location)
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING...
Working full-time Monday to Friday, 7:30am–4:00pm, your duties may include:
- Assisting with propagation, planting, pruning, and general plant care
- Harvesting and preparing cut flowers for wholesale distribution
- Watering, fertilising, weeding, and maintaining production areas
- Monitoring plant health and reporting issues to senior staff
- Operating tools and equipment safely and effectively
- Preparing orders, packing, and maintaining stock quality
- Supporting the team across nursery and growing areas as required
As part of this apprenticeship, you will be PAID to study a Certificate III in Nursery Operations through a combination of on-the-job experience and off-the-job training at TAFE Ourimbah over a period of 36 months.
