The opportunity
Our client is a well-established New Zealand manufacturer operating across a range of industrial sectors, delivering complex stainless steel solutions to customers nationwide.
They are now seeking a Finance Manager to step into a newly created role, with responsibility for strengthening and shaping the finance function as the business continues to grow.
This is a hands-on leadership role. You will sit close to the business, not removed from it, and play a key part in both financial stewardship and commercial decision-making.
  
The role
You will take ownership of the finance function, balancing day-to-day oversight with longer-term improvement and insight.
Responsibilities include:

• Leading accounts payable, receivable, and payroll
• Managing and developing a small finance/admin team
• Owning financial systems, including ERP and reporting tools (e.g. Power BI)
• Delivering monthly management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow oversight
• Supporting statutory reporting and compliance requirements, including Company Secretary responsibilities
• Partnering with leadership to provide commercial insight and support better decision-making

About you
You are comfortable operating across both detail and strategy. You are equally at home rolling up your sleeves as you are contributing at a leadership level.
You will likely bring:

• Experience in a finance leadership role within a manufacturing, services, or operational environment
• CA or CPA qualification (preferred, not essential)
• Strong ERP and reporting capability (experience with ABEL advantageous)
• A solid grounding across core finance functions (AP, AR, payroll, GL)
• Experience delivering financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
• The ability to lead and develop a small team
• Clear communication and sound commercial judgement
