The Role
This is a senior, influential role within an established and well-regarded Chartered Accounting firm, leading and managing the Tauranga office.
You’ll be trusted to run the office, lead workflow, support and develop people, and deliver consistently high-quality outcomes for clients across New Zealand. There’s real opportunity to use your skills, grow capability, and make a visible difference.
Ideally, you’ll be a proven Accounting Manager with strong technical skills who enjoys owning workflow, coaching others, and keeping things running smoothly. However, we also want to hear from experienced Senior Accountants who bring demonstrated training and development experience, strong leadership potential, and the right mindset to step into a broader role.
What you’ll be doing
- Leading daily workflow and job prioritisation
- Coaching, reviewing, and developing team members
- Preparing and reviewing financial statements and tax work
- Working directly with clients as a trusted, practical advisor
- Improving systems, processes, and how the team operates
What we’re looking for - CA qualified (or part-qualified and committed to completing)
- Experience in a New Zealand Chartered Accounting firm
(including candidates now working in commercial roles) - Demonstrable leadership skills
- Strong technical capability with sound judgement
- A practical, positive approach and willingness to lead from the front
- Experience with Māori organisations or Māori business (advantageous)
