About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced Compliance Accountant to join one of the region’s most reputable and people-focused accounting firms. In this role, you’ll focus on the technical work you do best, preparing financial statements, managing IRD compliance, and delivering reliable, high-quality outcomes for a wide range of clients.

Your Day-to-Day Will Include

• Preparing annual and monthly accounts for a wide range of clients
• Filing IRD returns (GST, FBT, PAYE, Income Tax) accurately and on time
• Supporting clients with tax compliance and reporting obligations
• Assisting clients with accounting software queries (Xero expertise is a plus)
• Contributing to client relationships and delivering service with care and clarity

What We’re Looking For

• Experience in a New Zealand accounting firm preparing financial statements and tax returns
• Excellent attention to detail and confidence in navigating compliance requirements
• Strong communication and client service skills—you know how to engage professionally and warmly
• You don’t need to be CA-qualified, but experience matters (ideally 3+ years)
• A steady hand, a team player, and someone who takes pride in producing great work
