About the Role
Liquigas is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our national engineering function and play a key role in shaping the future of New Zealand’s LPG infrastructure.
Based in New Plymouth, this leadership role sits on the Liquigas leadership team and is responsible for the safe, reliable and efficient operation of critical LPG infrastructure. You’ll oversee asset management, maintenance planning, engineering project delivery, technical support and regulatory compliance (including responsibilities as Pipeline Manager and Pressure Equipment Controller as per legislation).
You'll lead a skilled team of four direct reports: Mechanical, Maintenance, and I&E Engineers, as well as a Document Controller. You'll also be supported by a Capital Projects Engineer.

What You’ll Be Responsible For - Leading national engineering, maintenance, and asset management functions
- Managing compliance under health, safety, pipeline, and pressure equipment regulations
- Providing oversight of engineering project delivery and plant change activities
- Coaching and motivating a small, capable team
- Contributing to strategic planning and Board-level reporting
What We’re Looking For - A degree-qualified engineer
- 10+ years' engineering experience, ideally in energy or infrastructure sectors
- Familiarity with pipeline, pressure equipment, and HSWA compliance
- Solid understanding of asset and maintenance planning systems
- Project leadership, budget management, and contractor oversight
- Excellent communication, people leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills
This role would suit an experienced
Engineering Manager, or a senior engineer with proven leadership capabilities, ready to step up into a leadership position.
