Due to continued growth, we have an exciting opportunity for a Junior SMP Designer to join our Brisbane team. This role is ideal for someone with experience in mining and minerals.
The primary focus of this position is to contribute to design development and produce high‑quality 3D layouts in support of our Projects Team.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Prepare layouts and detailed drawings in line with requirements.
- Deliver designs according to required timeframes by coordinating with relevant project members.
- Maintain consistent design drafting standards and ensuring strict drafting systems and protocols are adhered to.
- Overcome design and/or schedule issues by maintaining an overview of activity, communicating with the Project lead in a timely manner.
Skills and Experience required:
- Formal qualifications in a Trade, Drafting or Engineering.
- 1+ years' experience in a design/drafting role within a mining or engineering organisation.
- Sound working knowledge of Mechanical/ SMP drafting and design principles used in producing final documentation.
- Demonstrated experience and the ability to utilise software including AutoCAD, Prosteel, Advancesteel, Navisworks. (Desirable- MicroStation / Projectwise).
- Great communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to remain dynamic and agile, and work in a fast-paced work environment.
