Freight | Cargo | Logistics Sales Rep
Business Development Executive (Solutions Sales Representative)
Industry: Freight forwarding and multimodal cargo logistics
Territory:  West Coast
Work Schedule: Los Angeles, CA – Field Based and hybrid from the LAX

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Join an established, multi-regional logistics enterprise operating across the Americas, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. The organization specializes in time-critical, high-value, and temperature-sensitive freight, offering an integrated platform that encompasses air and ocean forwarding, cold chain, charter operations, and last-mile distribution. This opportunity is designed for a consultative seller who excels at uncovering shipper pain points and delivering operational solutions.

THE ROLE
The Field Based Cargo Solutions Sales Representative drives revenue expansion by acquiring net-new accounts and cross-selling customized logistics solutions. You will oversee the complete sales cycle—from lead generation and qualification to proposal development, closing, onboarding, and long-term account growth.

Why This Is a Good Opportunity

• Ö Differentiated Product: Sell a specialized, temperature-controlled portfolio—perishable and cold-chain portfolio that standard LAX forwarders cannot easily match.
• Ö AI-Powered Speed (Quotes in Minutes, Not Hours): Eliminate tedious, complicated manual rate-building—with cutting-edge AI and automated quoting tools generate complex, competitive freight proposals in minutes so you can focus strictly on closing deals.
• Ö True Ownership: Pure hunter seat with open territory boundaries and zero reliance on inbound marketing leads.
• Ö Clear Impact: An identified air freight competency gap on the team creates immediate room for an air-focused seller to stand out.
• Ö Growth Trajectory: Mid-sized, evolving structure provides faster promotion pathways and direct executive access compared to legacy forwarders.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Business Development: Prospect, qualify, and close net-new accounts across targeted industries and trade lanes; reactivate dormant accounts and expand share of wallet.
• Solution Design: Evaluate customer transportation requirements and construct tailored proposals utilizing air freight, ocean freight, cold chain, warehousing, and ground transportation.
• Cross-Functional Execution: Collaborate with Pricing and Operations teams to build commercially competitive, profitable proposals and ensure smooth account execution.
• CRM & Process Discipline: Maintain structured pipeline tracking within Salesforce and utilize AI-driven quoting technology for rapid turnaround times.

REQUIREMENTS

• Experience:  Minimum 2+ years of active B2B sales or business development experience in freight forwarding, air cargo, 3 PL or supply chain services (strictly no less than 2 years)
• Sales Metrics: Must have documented sales metrics (closed revenue, deal counts, pipeline size) explicitly stated on your resume.
• Industry Knowledge: Working knowledge of multimodal transport (air, ocean, ground, cold chain).
• Tech Adoption: Proficient in CRM tools (Salesforce) and comfortable adopting AI-generated quoting tools.
• Location: Commutable distance to the LAX-area office for hybrid schedule.
• Education & Skills: Bachelor's degree preferred (not required)
• Must be fluent in English | Spanish is a plus

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

• Base Salary + Quarterly Performance Bonus (estimated up to $20K or more annually)
• Benefits: UHC Choice Plus POS (74% employer-paid), Dental & Vision PPO.
• 401(k): Eligible after 90 days with a 50% company match up to 6%.
• PTO: 10 vacation days, 2 personal days, 3 sick days, and 8 paid holidays annually.
