REGIONAL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER - NORTHEAST U.S. TERRITORY
Full-Time, Exempt | Northeast U.S. Territory
$150,000 - $200,000 OTE (Including performance - based incentives)
Reports to: National Sales Manager
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
A globally recognized, family-founded manufacturer of professional entertainment lighting and control systems is looking for a driven, well-connected Regional Business Development Manager to own and grow its presence across the Northeast U.S. — home to some of the most influential venues, designers, and production companies in the industry.
This company has spent more than three decades building a reputation that lighting professionals genuinely seek out and trust. They move fast, back their people, and build products with real purpose across a portfolio that spans intelligent moving lights, LED fixtures, architectural systems, theatrical systems, and lighting control platforms. Their products are deployed in concert tours, festivals, theaters, houses of worship, theme parks, and broadcast studios across more than 100 countries.
This is a relationship-first, field-forward role. You'll be the face of the brand across a large, high-value territory — engaging the channel and end users alike to build demand from the ground up.
THE TERRITORY
ME, NH, VT, MA, RI, CT, NY, NJ, PA, DE, WV, VA, MD, OH, IN, KY, and MI.
Candidates must be based within this territory.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Own your territory: build and execute a strategic sales plan to achieve and exceed quarterly and annual revenue targets across the Northeast region.
- Prospect, qualify, and close new business across the professional AV and live entertainment channel — including integrators, dealers, rental and staging companies, and production firms — while managing and growing your existing dealer account base.
- Lead and develop relationships with manufacturer rep agencies, coaching and enabling rep partners to effectively position and sell the full product portfolio.
- Identify and engage key decision-makers — lighting designers, theatrical consultants, technical directors, A/V integrators, and procurement managers — to drive specification and pull-through sales.
- Collaborate with an internal Design and Applications team to bring technical drawings, system designs, and support resources to dealers, helping them win more business.
- Actively demonstrate products in the field for dealers, specifiers, and end users.
- Maintain accurate pipeline data and account activity in CRM to support forecasting and territory planning.
- Other duties may be assigned.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR Required
- 5+ years of territory or channel sales experience in professional AV, entertainment lighting, or a closely related technology vertical, with a demonstrated track record of hitting revenue targets.
- An established network of dealers, integrators, rental companies, or rep agencies across the Northeast U.S.
- Experience managing or working alongside manufacturer rep agencies.
- Solid understanding of professional lighting systems and control protocols (DMX, ArtNet, sACN) and AVL integration workflows.
- Self-starter mentality with the ability to manage a large territory independently while staying connected to a national team.
- Willingness to travel approximately 50% within the Northeast territory.
Preferred - Existing familiarity with professional lighting brands and competitive product sets in the entertainment lighting space.
- Experience selling into houses of worship, live event production, broadcast, or permanent installation markets.
- Proficiency with CRM platforms (Salesforce or equivalent) for pipeline management.
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field — or equivalent professional experience.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS - Competitive base salary + performance-based bonus (OTE guidance provided upon application)
- Product demo kit and field support resources
- Travel expense reimbursement
- Comprehensive health, dental, and vision benefits
- 401(k) with company match
- Paid time off and company holidays
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT - Must be able to lift, transport, and set up lighting fixtures, trussing, and related equipment (up to 50 lbs.) for product demonstrations.
- Regular exposure to bright light from product fixtures during demos and events.
