DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented financial leader to oversee the accounting operations of a premier Aviation MRO organization. This critical role reports directly to the CFO and is responsible for ensuring strict GAAP compliance and maintaining accurate financial reporting within a complex, high-volume operational environment.
The ideal candidate will manage the full accounting cycle—from month-end close and general ledger integrity to inventory and cost accounting. You will serve as a strategic partner to the executive team, providing the financial clarity needed to drive operational excellence in a highly regulated industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Compliance: Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP while maintaining robust internal controls.
Full Cycle Accounting: Lead and optimize the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes specifically utilizing the Quantum ERP system.
Inventory & Cost Accounting: Oversee accounting for high-value aviation parts and components, ensuring accurate valuation and reconciling perpetual inventory systems to the general ledger.
Cash & Tax Management: Perform monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliations, monitor cash flow, and ensure proper sales and use tax compliance.
Operational Support: Partner with the CFO to lead the annual budgeting process, perform variance analysis, and monitor work-in-process (WIP) and overhead absorption.
Leadership: Supervise and mentor accounting staff while driving process improvements and automation initiatives across the department.
REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
Certification: Active CPA license is strongly preferred.
Software Expertise:Must have hands-on experience with the Quantum ERP system. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
Experience: 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a heavy preference for backgrounds in Aviation MRO or manufacturing environments.
Technical Knowledge: Deep expertise in U.S. GAAP, job costing, WIP accounting, and margin analysis.
Regulatory Familiarity: Experience managing inventory accounting and compliance within highly regulated, high-value industries.
Soft Skills: Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, operationally complex environment.
