About this Opportunity
ttg is recruiting a VP of Finance to bring discipline, structure, and financial visibility to a complex, multi-entity environment with a significant opportunity to strengthen the accounting foundation. This is a high-impact opportunity for a mature finance leader who can strengthen the accounting foundation, enhance reporting visibility, and help shape a finance and accounting function aligned with the company's next phase of growth. The role calls for a true business partner to the CEO—someone who can strengthen the foundation while helping build the organization for what comes next.
Position Summary
The Vice President of Finance will lead the finance and accounting function across a complex operating environment that includes multiple entities, locations, workflows, and reporting needs. The successful candidate will bring strong accounting and controllership fundamentals, the ability to assess and improve systems and process flow, and the leadership maturity to help shape team structure, establish priorities, and support executive decision-making.
This role requires a leader who can operate at both the strategic and tactical levels. The right person will be able to see the big picture—legal entity structure, segmentation, reporting architecture, systems interaction, cost allocation, and organizational design—while also remaining close to the fundamentals: reconciliations, close process, chart of accounts, controls, allocations, team accountability, and data integrity.
This is an opportunity to create an environment that fosters strong compliance, clear financial visibility, sound controls, and a well-run finance and accounting function aligned with the needs of the business. The role also calls for a finance leader who can serve as an effective bridge between technical finance and non-technical stakeholders, articulate financial information with clarity and relevance, partner actively with operating leaders on profitability, and deliver reliable ownership-level reporting.
Key Mandate
The next Vice President of Finance will play a central role in two parallel priorities:
- Strengthen and further develop the current finance and accounting environment
- Build a finance function capable of supporting future decision-making, growth, and operational discipline
This individual will be expected to assess current structure, improve reporting visibility, strengthen controls, and build or reshape the team as needed. Cost allocation, operating structure, and finance architecture appear to be especially important areas of focus.
Key Responsibilities - Serve as a trusted business partner to the CEO and executive leadership team
- Lead and enhance the overall finance and accounting operating model
- Improve the timeliness, integrity, and usefulness of financial reporting
- Strengthen the monthly close process, balance sheet discipline, and reconciliation rigor
- Assess and improve the company's chart of accounts, reporting architecture, and financial structure
- Lead the evaluation and refinement of cost allocation methodologies, including the distinction between direct costs, shared costs, and overhead allocations across business lines, offices, and entities
- Help clarify and improve the relationship among key systems, workflows, and accounting outputs
- Enhance discipline around banking structure, intercompany activity, and cash-related controls
- Own and maintain key banking relationships, including oversight of facilities, terms, and ongoing banking partnership management
- Partner closely with department and office leaders to identify opportunities to improve profitability across individual profit centers
- Lead the preparation of a clear, well-organized monthly ownership reporting package covering consolidated margins, key performance indicators, and profit center-level results
- Support acquisition analysis, including deal modeling, review of target financials, and due diligence support
- Evaluate current team structure, talent capability, and role clarity; reshape the organization where appropriate
- Establish strong accountability, communication, and operating cadence across the finance and accounting team
- Create an environment that is compliant, well-controlled, and audit-ready
- Partner with outside advisors, auditors, and internal stakeholders to support transition and long-term stabilization
- Help define the roadmap toward a more forward-looking finance function that can support planning, visibility, and sound executive decision-making
Ideal Background We are seeking a leader with a strong blend of technical accounting depth, operational judgment, and executive presence.
The ideal candidate will offer:
- 7 to 10+ years of relevant experience in senior finance, accounting, or controllership leadership roles
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting strongly preferred; advanced degree in Finance or related field is valuable
- CPA strongly preferred
- Proven experience helping create the structure, controls, and systems environment needed to support strong compliance and visibility
- Proven experience in similar roles within a complex, multi-entity, multi-location environment
- Strong grounding in accounting fundamentals, including close, reconciliations, controls, and reporting
- Experience with systems implementations, integrations, or finance process redesign
- Clear command of cost allocation, segmentation, and financial structure
- Experience managing or redesigning charts of accounts, reporting views, and multi-dimensional operating models
- Ability to lead through ambiguity, prioritize effectively, and communicate clearly across all levels of the organization
- Strong leadership presence, with the maturity to build trust and guide teams through change
- Demonstrated ability to communicate financial information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience partnering with operating leaders to improve profitability and performance across business units or profit centers
- Experience supporting banking relationships, treasury-related matters, and lender-facing interactions
- Exposure to acquisition analysis, financial modeling, and due diligence support
Leadership Profile The right person for this role will be:
- Highly strategic, but close enough to the details to guide execution
- Mature, credible, and effective as a partner to the CEO and senior leadership
- Capable of seeing the full picture while also managing the practical building blocks of finance and accounting
- Organized, thoughtful, and disciplined in both analysis and execution
- Comfortable helping shape teams, processes, and operating structure in a dynamic environment
- Able to support both immediate priorities and the longer-term development of a strong finance and accounting organization
- Highly communicative, clear, and proactive in translating financial information into practical business insight
