Category Manager, Optical & Audiology (Full-Time, Hybrid)
Location: Miami, FL (Hybrid)
Compensation: $100,000 – $130,000 + Excellent Benefits
Travel: Occasional Domestic and International
A well-established international retail organization is seeking a Category Manager, Optical & Audiology to lead a growing and high-impact category across multiple markets.
This role is ideal for someone who understands how to blend category strategy, vendor management, merchandising, inventory performance, and commercial decision-making in a fast-moving environment. You will help shape the product assortment, strengthen supplier partnerships, support innovation, and drive results across optical and audiology categories.

The Category Manager, Optical & Audiology will lead the strategy and business performance of assigned categories, with responsibility for assortment planning, supplier management, pricing competitiveness, inventory health, promotional support, and margin delivery. This person will manage a complex vendor base, support product lifecycle decisions, identify opportunities for growth and innovation, and help ensure the business remains competitive in evolving optical and hearing-related markets.
Responsibilities - Lead category strategy for optical and audiology product lines across multiple markets
- Manage supplier relationships and negotiate pricing, terms, freight programs, return structures, and overall commercial agreements
- Build and maintain a productive, market-relevant assortment that supports member value and business growth
- Review inventory levels, demand patterns, vendor availability, and promotional activity to support accurate purchasing and replenishment decisions
- Partner with internal teams to support product launches, seasonal planning, promotional calendars, and category development
- Monitor category performance through sales, margin, inventory turns, out-of-stocks, and sell-through analysis
- Identify opportunities to improve SKU productivity, reduce slow-moving inventory, and strengthen product mix
- Support pricing strategy through competitive analysis and market review
- Maintain accurate item setup and product data in internal systems, including pricing, dimensions, coding, and terms
- Work closely with operations teams to gather field feedback and improve execution across locations
- Partner with compliance and registration teams to support documentation and regulatory requirements for applicable products
- Conduct regular business reviews with suppliers to evaluate performance, align on goals, and identify new opportunities
- Support vendor-funded programs and promotions that enhance member value
- Travel to locations as needed to assess assortment performance, program execution, and customer response
Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Business, Merchandising, Supply Chain, Healthcare Administration, or a related field
- 4+ years of experience in category management, buying, or global sourcing within optical, audiology, medical devices, consumer health, or related categories
- Strong experience negotiating with suppliers and managing commercial relationships
- Understanding of product quality, compliance, and regulatory requirements in healthcare-related or device-related categories
- Experience with assortment planning, forecasting, pricing, margin analysis, and inventory management
- Ability to interpret market data and translate insights into business decisions
- Experience working in a multi-market, international, or matrixed business environment
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Proficiency in Excel and business systems used for reporting, planning, and item management
- English required and Spanish strongly preferred
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed
- Experience in optical categories such as frames, lenses, contact lenses, accessories, or vision-related retail
- Experience in hearing aids, audiology accessories, or adjacent medical device categories
