Human Resources Total Rewards & Benefits Manager

Compensation: $95,000 to $155,000 depending on experience + performance-based bonuses
A well-established, globally connected organization is seeking a Human Resources Total Rewards & Benefits Manager to lead the strategy, administration, and continuous improvement of its U.S. benefits programs.

The Human Resources Total Rewards & Benefits Manager will own the day-to-day administration and ongoing strategy for U.S. employee benefit programs. This role is responsible for ensuring plans remain compliant, competitive, financially sound, and well understood by employees across the organization.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, proactive, and highly effective in managing vendors, interpreting regulations, improving processes, and guiding employees through complex benefits matters with professionalism and care.
Responsibilities
- Lead the administration of U.S. employee benefit programs including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, wellness, and related offerings
- Manage vendor relationships, including service performance, renewals, contracts, escalations, and issue resolution
- Own annual open enrollment planning and execution, including timelines, employee communications, data accuracy, and cross-functional coordination
- Monitor legislative and regulatory developments impacting benefits and translate requirements into practical action plans
- Maintain governance documentation to support audits, renewals, compliance testing, and internal controls
- Conduct market benchmarking and evaluate plan competitiveness, cost trends, utilization, and enhancement opportunities
- Track benefits spend and analyze data to identify cost-saving opportunities and support leadership decision-making
- Partner with Finance, Payroll, and internal stakeholders to support accurate funding, reconciliation, reporting, and plan administration
- Serve as the U.S. benefits subject matter expert for employees, managers, and internal business partners
- Support retirement-related processes and coordination tied to 401(k) administration, compliance activities, and provider relationships as needed
- Develop and implement a year-round communication strategy that improves benefits literacy and employee engagement
- Enhance the employee experience for key life events such as onboarding, leave of absence, family status changes, and benefits transitions
- Provide high-touch support for complex claims, sensitive situations, and employee benefit navigation
- Gather employee feedback through surveys and listening tools, then use insights to recommend future improvements
- Contribute to broader Total Rewards initiatives, policy development, and strategic HR projects as assigned
Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required
- 5+ years of progressive experience in benefits administration with a strong focus on U.S. benefits
- Proven success managing benefit vendors, renewals, budgets, compliance activities, and employee-facing processes
- Experience partnering with external benefits consultants and brokers
- Strong working knowledge of U.S. benefits regulations including ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, and related requirements
- Advanced Excel skills and comfort working within HRIS platforms and vendor systems
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and maintain confidentiality
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex benefits information clearly and professionally
- English fluency required
- Spanish preferred or openness to developing Spanish language capability
