GTN "Gross to Net" Finance Manager

Hybrid 4 days at the Office /1 Day remote
Our client is seeking an experienced finance professional to manage end-to-end Gross to Net (GTN) operations for a leading pharmaceutical manufacturer. In this role, you are responsible for the financial integrity of the "GTN bridge," managing the complex accounting required to transform top-line sales into actual realized revenue. You will lead critical functions—including accruals, pricing, and reconciliations—while accounting for rebates, discounts, and contract compliance. By driving cross-functional collaboration, you will ensure total revenue integrity and provide the precise data needed for accurate business forecasting.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
- Experience: 5+ years in GTN accounting specifically within the pharmaceutical manufacturer.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience with SAP; familiarity with data tools like Qlik Sense or Tableau or similar.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Deep knowledge of ASC 606, U.S. GAAP, and government programs (Medicaid, 340B, and ASP).
- Soft Skills: Ability to meet tight "month-end" deadlines and communicate complex financial data to non-finance stakeholders.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities Revenue & Accrual Management - Accrual Oversight: Calculate and post monthly accruals for wholesaler rebates, Medicaid, and price protection.
- Variance Analysis: Compare daily net sales against forecasts to identify and explain performance gaps.
- Closing Activities: Lead month-end financial closing, including trial balance reviews and account reconciliations.
Contracting & Compliance - Pricing Strategy: Review and validate contract pricing, WAC (Wholesale Acquisition Cost) changes, and new product launches.
- Claim Validation: Audit chargebacks and membership exceptions to ensure customers are adhering to agreed-upon terms.
- Audit Support: Ensure all GTN processes comply with internal controls and external audit standards (U.S. GAAP/IFRS).
Strategic Operations - Cash Flow Optimization: Manage Working Capital initiatives and present DSO (Days Sales Outstanding) metrics to leadership.
- Cross-Functional Partnership: Advise Sales and Marketing teams on the financial impact of commercial agreements.
- Systems & Automation: Use SAP and Qlik Sense to automate manual reporting and improve data accuracy.
