Staff Accountant / Accounting Specialist – Oracle ERP
  
Location: The Woodlands, Texas
Type of Work: In Office (Fully Onsite)
Schedule: Monday through Friday
Type of Contract: Full-Time

Description
We are seeking an Accounting Specialist to support accounting operations for a growing organization in the midstream oil and gas sector. This position reports directly to the Controller and will assist with maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end close, and contributing to internal financial reporting.
This role will support an upcoming ERP transition from QuickBooks to Oracle, making Oracle experience an important requirement.
 
Responsibilities and Duties

• Prepare and post journal entries and maintain the general ledger
• Perform balance sheet and income statement reconciliations
• Support month-end and year-end close processes
• Manage accounts payable, receivable, and expense reporting
• Assist with intercompany accounting and fixed asset tracking
• Support accounting related to gas transportation and operational costs
• Track capital expenditures and support project accounting
• Assist with the transition from QuickBooks to Oracle ERP

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
• Proven experience in the gas or energy industry, preferably with gas transportation or gas purchasing accounting
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and full-cycle accounting
• Hands-on experience with Oracle ERP (required)
• Proficiency in QuickBooks and advanced Microsoft Excel
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
