HVAC Superintendent
Location: Tampa Employment
Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Our client is a well-established, Florida-based mechanical contractors with full service engineering, construction, prefabrication, manufacturing, and building management solutions that has been in business for over 50 years. They are seeking 2 experienced HVAC Superintendent to support operations across Tampa.
Position Overview
The HVAC Superintendent supports the General Superintendent in managing the day-to-day field operations of HVAC construction projects. This role is responsible for supervising field personnel, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring projects remain on schedule. The Superintendent works closely with project managers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure all HVAC installations are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project specifications.
Qualifications
- A degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required. High school diploma or GED required
- HVAC certification, journeyman license, or other technical training strongly preferred
- 8-10 years of HVAC construction experience
- 3-5 years in a supervisory or superintendent role
- Experience managing HVAC installations on commercial, industrial, and/or large residential projects
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and oversee multiple job sites
Skills: - Strong leadership and team-building abilities
- Extensive knowledge of HVAC systems, installation methods, and best practices
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction documents
- Solid understanding of OSHA regulations and safety standards
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Additional Requirements: - Ability to travel to various job sites
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions and active construction environments
Preferred (Not Required): - Experience with project management or scheduling software such as Procore, Vista, Microsoft Project, or similar
- Knowledge of energy-efficient and sustainable HVAC systems
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
Key Responsibilities Field Supervision & Leadership: - Supervise HVAC field crews, foremen, and subcontractors
- Coordinate and schedule daily activities across multiple job sites
- Monitor productivity and provide guidance to ensure performance goals are met
Project Scheduling & Coordination: - Collaborate with project managers to develop and maintain project schedules
- Identify and resolve potential delays
- Ensure manpower, materials, and equipment are available as needed
Quality Control: - Ensure HVAC installations meet project specifications and quality standards
- Perform regular job site inspections
- Maintain compliance with building codes, industry standards, and company policies
Safety Management: - Enforce company safety procedures and OSHA regulations
- Conduct safety meetings and site inspections
- Promote a strong safety culture across all field teams
Material & Equipment Management: - Coordinate material and equipment deliveries
- Oversee proper storage, handling, and use of HVAC materials
- Ensure tools and equipment are maintained and ready for use
Collaboration & Communication: - Act as the primary liaison between field teams, project managers, engineers, and clients
- Communicate project updates, challenges, and progress to leadership
- Address client concerns promptly and professionally
Problem-Solving & Conflict Resolution: - Resolve issues related to scheduling, labor, or materials
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance
- Manage and resolve conflicts to maintain smooth project operations
Documentation & Reporting: - Maintain accurate daily reports, manpower logs, and safety documentation in Procore
- Track changes, inspections, and milestones
- Report project progress and recommend improvements to field operations
Compensation: Based on years of experience- $140K- $165K, PTO, Benefits and more info to come
