About the Role
We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Ocean Freight Operator to join a dynamic international logistics team. This professional will be responsible for coordinating end-to-end export documentation for international sea shipments, ensuring compliance with global regulations, and maintaining seamless execution of all transportation activities. The role requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual who excels at problem-solving and thrives in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate export documentation and manage the lifecycle of international ocean shipments from origin to destination.
Partner with the export department to align shipment execution with operational plans.
Ensure full compliance with international shipping regulations and reporting requirements, including AES transmissions.
Meet all critical milestones and timelines as defined by customer and business requirements.
Manage accurate invoicing and maintain cost control by aligning with agreed pricing structures.
Negotiate shipping rates with providers, subject to management approval.
Prepare detailed quotes and identify optimal transport solutions for clients and global network offices.
Qualifications
Required:
Minimum of 3 years' experience in international freight forwarding or transport logistics.
Strong knowledge of ocean freight processes and international trade regulations.
Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Proficient with logistics software and systems.
Exceptional organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Self-starter who works well independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Ability to perform under pressure and meet deadlines consistently.
Preferred:
Familiarity with CargoWise 1 or similar logistics platforms.
Educational background in logistics, international trade, or a related field.
