About the Role:
Are you passionate about logistics and trade compliance? We're looking for a highly skilled Customs Import Specialist to join a dynamic and globally connected logistics organization. This hybrid role based in Plantation, FL offers the flexibility to partially work from home while playing a key role in managing international import operations and ensuring regulatory compliance.
As a Customs Import Specialist, you'll manage import processes, facilitate customs clearance, and ensure shipments arrive on time and in accordance with U.S. Customs regulations. You'll collaborate with global teams, carriers, and customers—bringing precision, clarity, and exceptional service to every transaction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily customs import operations and maintain compliance with trade regulations and U.S. Customs requirements.
• Prepare, review, and submit entry documentation to U.S. Customs and other government agencies.
• Ensure accurate product classification and tariff code assignment (HTSUS).
• Coordinate ocean freight shipments from point of origin to final destination.
• Manage communications with brokers, freight forwarders, and internal teams to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.
• Provide excellent customer service, proactively resolving delays or discrepancies.
• Keep detailed and compliant records of shipments, documents, and communications.
• Stay informed about changes in trade laws, customs regulations, and compliance trends.

Qualifications:

• Proven expertise in customs brokerage and import compliance processes.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. import regulations, including U.S. HTS classification and Customs Federal Regulations.
• Experience with ocean shipping logistics and freight coordination.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) to effectively liaise with carriers, customers, and internal stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to provide top-tier customer service in a fast-paced environment.
• High attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency with logistics and brokerage systems (e.g., ACE, ABI) and MS Office tools.
• Prior logistics, supply chain, or international trade experience preferred.
