An excellent opportunity has become available for an experienced Intermediate or Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established and highly regarded New Zealand Quantity Surveying and Construction Cost consultancy.
Working within their Contract Administration and Bank Reporting team, this is a client-facing position offering exposure to a varied range of construction and development projects.
The business has an excellent reputation within the market, a busy workload and, importantly, a strong track record of staff retention. They offer a professional but supportive working environment where people are encouraged to develop their careers and take genuine ownership of their work.
The Role You will work closely with clients, contractors, developers, lenders and wider project teams, providing professional Quantity Surveying and commercial advice throughout the project lifecycle.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Contract administration across a range of construction projects
- Assessment of progress claims and variations
- Preparation of Bank Funding / Drawdown Reports
- Providing cost and commercial advice to clients and lenders
- Monitoring project costs, risks and contractual matters
- Supporting procurement and tender processes
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships
- Working closely with contractors, consultants and project stakeholders
- Supporting junior members of the QS team where appropriate
Previous experience preparing Bank Funding Reports would certainly be an advantage, but isn’t essential. More important is a good grounding in New Zealand consultancy Quantity Surveying and the ability to confidently deal with clients and project teams.
About You Ideally, you will have:
- A relevant Quantity Surveying qualification
- Around 5+ years’ Quantity Surveying experience
- Previous experience within a New Zealand PQS consultancy or similar environment
- Good knowledge of contract administration, progress claims and variations
- Bank reporting experience would be advantageous, although not essential
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- The confidence to work directly with clients, contractors, lenders and consultants
- Good commercial awareness and attention to detail
- A collaborative and professional approach
- New Zealand working rights and a current driver’s licence
The position could suit an experienced Intermediate QS looking for the next step in their career, or an established Senior QS wanting to join a respected consultancy with a strong pipeline of work.
What’s On Offer? You’ll be joining a stable and successful consultancy that has developed an excellent reputation within the New Zealand construction industry.
There is a
competitive remuneration package based on experience, ongoing professional development and the opportunity to become an important part of an established team with a genuinely good record of retaining its people.
