An excellent opportunity has opened for an Intermediate Project Manager to join a well-established and respected project management consultancy in Wellington.
This role would suit someone with a few years of project delivery experience who is ready to take the next step, work across a varied portfolio of projects and continue developing within an experienced project management team.
The Role
Working alongside Senior Project Managers and Directors, you will be involved across the full project lifecycle, including:
- Project planning and coordination
- Consultant and contractor management
- Programme, cost and risk management
- Procurement and tender processes
- Client and stakeholder communication
- Design and construction coordination
- Monitoring projects through delivery and completion
The project portfolio is varied, so experience across commercial building projects is important, while exposure to civil infrastructure and M&E / building services would be particularly useful.
About You
We are looking for someone who has:
- A Building Science degree or closely related construction qualification
- Previous experience working in project management or project delivery
- Good knowledge of the New Zealand construction environment
- Experience across commercial building projects
- Exposure to civil and/or M&E projects would be advantageous
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- A practical, organised approach to project delivery
- The ambition to continue developing towards Senior Project Manager level
You don't need to have done everything already. The key is having a solid technical foundation, good project experience and the ability to confidently work with clients, consultants and contractors.
The Opportunity
This is a genuine career opportunity with a professional consultancy offering a strong pipeline of Wellington projects, experienced people to learn from and the opportunity to broaden your experience across different sectors and project types.
For a Project Manager who has built a good foundation and is now looking for greater responsibility and career progression, this could be an excellent next move.
