A well-established and highly respected commercial construction contractor is seeking an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join their growing Auckland team. With a strong pipeline of projects building and significant work scheduled through 2026, this is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to take the next step in their career within a stable and progressive business.
This contractor delivers a wide range of high-quality projects across commercial new builds and interior fit-out/refurbishment, offering the opportunity to gain exposure across both sectors while working alongside experienced project teams.

The Opportunity
You will play a key role in supporting the commercial management of projects from procurement through to final account. Depending on your experience and interests, you may work within either the interiors team (fast-paced commercial fit-outs and refurbishments) or the commercial new build team delivering larger-scale construction projects.
This role offers strong mentorship, structured systems, and the chance to work on well-known projects across Auckland.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing project costs and budgets from procurement through to completion
• Preparing and evaluating subcontractor packages and letting contracts
• Monitoring project financial performance and forecasting costs
• Managing variations, progress claims and subcontractor payments
• Assisting with cost planning and value engineering
• Working closely with project managers, site teams and subcontractors

About You

• 3-6+ years' Quantity Surveying experience in commercial construction
• Experience with either interiors/fit-out or commercial new build projects
• Strong understanding of NZ construction contracts and procurement processes
• Ability to manage subcontractor relationships and project cost control
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Relevant construction or Quantity Surveying qualification preferred
