Geotechnical Engineers - Intermediate, Senior, and Principal (Category 1)

Join a dynamic and growing engineering team delivering high-quality geotechnical design for land development, commercial, and industrial projects throughout the Waikato and Bay of Plenty regions. We have three opportunities available as part of this expanding team:
- Intermediate Geotechnical Engineer - $95K to $120K
- Senior Geotechnical Engineer - $120K to $160K
- Principal Geotechnical Lead (Category 1) - $160K to $200K + profit share and directorship potential
These roles focus on technically challenging projects and offer progression pathways, a supportive team culture, and flexible working options.
About the Roles
You'll work on diverse geotechnical scopes including site investigations, design, analysis, and construction support, all within a collaborative, forward-thinking environment. The Principal Lead will guide regional delivery and strategy, while Senior and Intermediate Engineers will actively contribute to technical design and project delivery.
What You'll Do
- Deliver geotechnical investigations, foundation and retaining structure design, slope stability analysis, and construction monitoring.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary design teams on land development, commercial, and industrial projects (excluding heavy civil works).
- Develop and review technical reports and models using recognised software and geotechnical best practices.
- Support and mentor less experienced engineers (Senior and Principal roles).
- Manage client relationships, project resources, and quality assurance to maintain exceptional standards across all deliverables.
- Engage in team development, innovation, and continuous improvement.
What You Bring
- Relevant BE (Civil) or equivalent with 3+ years' experience (Intermediate), 8+ years' experience (Senior), or 15+ years with Chartership and Category 1 recognition (Principal).
- Strong technical skills in geotechnical analysis, design, and reporting across a range of project scales.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Motivation to collaborate, learn, and grow within a professional, people-focused environment.
- For the Principal role: proven leadership experience and capability to shape technical direction and business growth.
