Lead meaningful projects that shape communities across New Zealand.
A respected construction consultancy is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join its Wellington team. This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of projects across the health, education, commercial, civic, and infrastructure sectors, delivering value and clarity at every stage of the project life cycle.
You'll play a pivotal role in planning, coordinating, and driving the successful delivery of projects — from early feasibility through to completion. Working closely with clients, contractors, consultants, and stakeholders, you'll ensure projects are well-organised, commercially sound, and delivered to the highest standard.
About the Role
You'll be responsible for managing scope, programme, budget, and risk, while maintaining clear communication across multi-disciplinary teams. Your approach will balance strategic oversight with hands-on delivery — helping clients make confident, informed decisions that lead to successful outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading projects from planning and procurement through to delivery and handover
- Coordinating consultants, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure alignment
- Monitoring cost, programme, quality, and risk performance
- Preparing project documentation, reports, and governance updates
- Building trusted relationships with clients and delivery partners
About You You'll bring strong leadership, commercial acumen, and a practical understanding of how construction projects get built. Calm under pressure and confident in your communication, you're someone who values precision, structure, and accountability.
You will have: - A degree in construction management, engineering, or a related discipline
- 5-10 years' project management experience (client-side or contractor background)
- Proven ability to manage medium to large-scale projects in New Zealand
- Knowledge of NZS 3910 and other standard forms of contract
- Strong stakeholder and team management skills
- A proactive, collaborative approach to problem-solving
Why Join You'll become part of a professional team that values integrity, clarity, and collaboration — with the autonomy to make a genuine impact on the success of each project. The role offers:
- Exposure to high-profile, community-focused projects
- A supportive environment that encourages professional growth
- Competitive remuneration aligned with experience and contribution
If you're ready to take the next step in your project management career and want to work with a team that delivers excellence through precision and partnership, we'd love to hear from you.
