Mechanical Engineer - Water Infrastructure

With a growing forward workload, they are seeking a Senior and an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer – Water Infrastructure to strengthen their team and contribute to essential projects in the water sector.
  
The Opportunity
With a strong pipeline of projects, you will be involved in the design and delivery of complex water infrastructure, including gravity wells, wastewater systems, pipelines, pump stations, and other critical hydraulic assets. This role is ideal for engineers who excel in mechanical design for water infrastructure and want to be part of a high-performing team in a dynamic environment.
  
What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead (Senior) or contribute to (Intermediate) the design and development of water and wastewater hydraulic infrastructure, ensuring technical excellence and innovation.
• Prepare detailed mechanical designs for pumping stations, pipelines, valves, and pressure management systems.
• Conduct system analysis, including pump sizing, hydraulic calculations, and performance assessments.
• Work closely with civil, structural, and electrical engineers to deliver integrated solutions.
• Provide technical guidance to clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders throughout project lifecycles.
• Assist in project management tasks, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
• Mentor junior engineers (Senior role) and contribute to team capability development.

What We’re Looking For

Senior Mechanical Engineer – Water Infrastructure:

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 8+ years of experience in the design of water infrastructure, including pump stations, pipelines, and wastewater systems.
• Strong technical expertise in mechanical water infrastructure, including gravity and pressure systems.
• Experience working with Water Authorities, Councils, or major infrastructure clients.
• Project leadership experience and the ability to provide technical oversight.
• Excellent communication skills for liaising with clients and stakeholders.  

Intermediate Mechanical Engineer – Water Infrastructure:

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 3-7 years of experience in mechanical design for water and wastewater infrastructure.
• A solid understanding of hydraulic principles, pump selection, and mechanical system design.
• Experience collaborating in a multidisciplinary environment.
• Eagerness to develop technical expertise and progress within the consultancy.
