THE ROLE
Our Electricity Market and Network Modelling team has established a strong reputation in the market, providing high-profile modelling work for major renewable developers, AEMO and TNSPs. The team is growing at a fast pace, expecting to double within a year and expanding to other markets. We manage connections to the national electricity market through end-to-end solutions from pre-enquiry to connection and registration, testing, compliance and commercial operations.
As an Electricity Market Modeller, you'll be responsible for building and maintaining models that help explain how the electricity market works—covering supply and demand, pricing, and the impact of different policies. You'll stay across market trends, regulatory changes, and new technologies to understand how they influence market behaviour.
You'll use tools like PLEXOS or similar platforms to run scenarios and forecast market outcomes. A key part of your role involves working with large datasets—covering generation, consumption, transmission, and market transactions—to ensure your analysis is accurate and reliable.
You'll also carry out quantitative analysis to support decision-making, including risk assessments and investment evaluations. When it's time to share your insights, you'll focus on making complex modelling results easy to understand through clear visuals, reports, and presentations that explain your methods, assumptions, and findings.
Collaboration is important—you'll work closely with cross-functional teams to provide insights that support strategic planning and policy development.
