Headquartered in Japan, Sojitz Blue is a privately owned Australian mining company that values its people through safety and culture. Sojitz owns and operates two assets within the Southern Bowen Basin; Gregory Crinum Mine and Meteor Downs South Mine and currently employs over 600 people.
MDS Mine is located 45km southeast of the Central Queensland town of Springsure and is a successful 1.5 million tonne per annum Open Cut Truck and Shovel operation. The main coal seam is between 11 and 108 meters deep with an average thickness of 6.9 meters. Coal is processed onsite and trucked to the train load-out facility off-site. Minerva project, now in rehabilitation is located 30km from Springsure. It was an open-cut coal mine that used the ‘terrace’ mining method which ceased operation in late 2021.
HSTW Superintendent
Reporting to the SSE, responsible for providing coaching, advice, and assistance to frontline leaders and coal mine workers regarding risk and hazard management, leading the HSTW team in MDS and Minerva.
HSTW Officer
Responsible for coordinating and supporting the function in the implementation and coordination of all functional health and safety issues at the mine.
