The Superintendent - Health, Safety, Training & Wellbeing position is responsible for coordinating and supporting the Health and Safety function in the implementation and coordination of all functional health and safety issues at the mine.

The Health, Safety, Training & Wellbeing Superintendent will provide coaching, advice and assistance to frontline leaders and coal mine workers regarding risk and hazard management.

Responsibilities: 

• Provide advice across the project on health and safety matters in accordance with the SHMS.
• Day to day function duties as required by the SHMS, direction of the Operations Manager or as needed to address operational priorities across the project.
• Positively influence and advise leaders and workers on health and safety matters, requirements under HST&W legislation, and drive forward the agenda for positive health and safety change in the workplace.
• Lead and deliver health, safety and wellbeing advice and service, enabling positive outcomes for employees and leaders - driving effectiveness, fostering cultural maturity, and delivering uplift of health, safety, and wellbeing performance across the project.
• Maintain sound knowledge of current legislation, policies, guidelines, and standards.
• Provide advice, training, consultation, monitoring for compliance on site, to support stakeholders and ensure all relevant HST&W legislation, policies and procedures are implemented.

Capability profile: 

• 3 years Mining HST&W experience in an Advisor role within a mining environment
• Experience in Rehabilitation and Return to Work 
• Experience in Incident Investigation Qualification (ICAM Facilitator)
• Working knowledge of an Open Cut Mining environment
• Formal HST&W Qualifications (minimum of Diploma)
