About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Health & Wellbeing Specialist to join our Sojitz Health Safety Training & Wellbeing team. As the Health & Wellbeing Specialist, the position is highly proficient in all aspects of Health & Wellbeing related matters encompassing a wide range of injury prevention and management, engagement with staff across the complex to support and build a culture of care and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure effective injury management and workplace rehabilitation.
• Lead health & injury related incident investigations in relation to return to work requirements.
• Assist in the development and delivery of health & wellbeing programs across the site.
• Carry out workplace assessments and where required injury management plans.
• Liaise with treating doctors or other allied health providers to make sure treatment matches recovery goals.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of health and hygiene management systems.
• Provide subject matter advice to fitness for work, mental and physical wellbeing programs.
• Assist with the implementation of health and hygiene projects across the Sojitz Group.
• Contribute to the development of the Injury and Illness Management program.
• Manage and improve the Sojitz health surveillance program and first aid management programs.
• Provide incident management, early intervention and end to end injury management for a portfolio of cases.
• Conduct Health & Wellbeing assurance activities including audits, risk assessments and inspections to address health risks and compliance.
• Actively monitor and analyse health & wellbeing performance and contribute to the development of appropriate interventions based on trends and analysis.
• Prepare reports and correspondence related to RTW management status and performance and support stakeholders to use this information proactively to create safer work practices and safer workplaces.

About you
  
The successful candidate will have the following:  

• Tertiary qualifications in Health (Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Nursing, Hygiene, Paramedicine, or related discipline).
• Current APHRA Registration.
• Extensive clinical experience ideally in Work, Health, and Safety.
• Return to Work Coordinator qualifications.
• Proven experience working within an organisation delivering health and injury management (eg onsite occupational health/injury management).
• Understanding and use of platforms such as SOLV (or similar), ResHealth & Intelex (or similar).
• Knowledge of the Coal Mining Safety and Health Act 1999 (Qld) including all relevant regulations, guidelines, and Australian standards.
• Extensive knowledge of Workers Compensation legislation and regulations.
