About the Role
  
The Undermanager is responsible for monitoring statutory compliance with current mining legislation and the site Safety and Health Management System (SHMS).

Key responsibilities will include:

• Demonstrate personal compliance to all elements of the Mine Operating System (MOS) including disciplined planning, delivery, accountability and urgency.
• Establish and maintain statutory compliance to relevant legislation and the Sojitz SHMS across the mine.
• Supporting the Underground Mine Manager to Control and manage mining activities being undertaken at the mine on the appointed shift.
• Monitoring daily and weekly mining plans and ensuring plans are executed to the highest possible standard.
• Lead, coach and mentor ERZ Controllers / Deputies and other coal mine workers.  

You will need:

• Current QLD 1st or 2nd Class Certificate of Competency (Undermanager), or NSW mutual recognition qualification; and
• Demonstratable experience in underground coal mining.
• Strong management and leadership capability.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders.
