About the Role
We are seeking a Dragline Engineer to join our client's high-performing Technical Services team. Reporting to a Technical Service Superintendent, you’ll play a key role in supporting dragline operations, ensuring optimal dig sequences, maximising productivity, and delivering safe, efficient outcomes across the pit. This position is ideal for an engineer who enjoys being close to production, influencing real-time decisions, and driving continuous improvement on-site.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain dragline dig plans and sequences aligned with the short-term mine schedule.
• Analyse dragline performance data to identify and implement improvements in efficiency and utilisation.
• Liaise daily with Production, Survey, and Mine Planning teams to ensure alignment between design and execution.
• Provide input into pit and dump design, ground control, and operational readiness planning.
• Support compliance with site safety and geotechnical standards.
• Contribute to reporting, reconciliation, and improvement projects that enhance operational performance.

About You

• Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or related discipline.
• Previous experience in dragline engineering or exposure to dragline operations within open-cut coal mining.
• Understanding of dragline productivity, sequencing, and design principles.
• Proficiency in mine planning software such as Deswik, Spry, or Vulcan.
• Strong communication skills and a practical, solution-focused mindset.
• Committed to safety, teamwork, and delivering consistent, quality results.
