E73 is partnering with a leading mining company to recruit an experienced Senior Mining Engineer – Haulage Scheduling for one of their flagship open-cut coal operations in the Bowen Basin.

This is a pivotal technical role within the short to medium-term planning team, responsible for haulage optimisation, truck and shovel scheduling, and delivering data-driven solutions that lift site productivity and efficiency. 

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, manage, and optimise haulage schedules, dig/dump designs, and truck & shovel sequencing using Spry.
• Conduct detailed cycle time analysis, fleet modelling, and haul route optimisation to identify cost and efficiency gains.
• Collaborate closely with production and technical teams to ensure alignment between schedules and operational priorities.
• Produce and communicate high-quality reports that track performance and compliance to plan.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across mine planning and haulage systems.
• Provide mentoring and technical guidance to junior engineers within the planning team.

About You

• Degree in Mining Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in open-cut coal mining, with a strong focus on scheduling.
• High-level proficiency in Spry (haulage modelling, scheduling, and reporting).
• Sound understanding of mine design, pit optimisation, and cost management.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, production-focused environment.
