Are you a data-driven agricultural professional with a passion for education and community engagement? Owl Farm is seeking a Demonstration Manager to lead our world-class dairy demonstration site located at St. Peter’s School in Cambridge.

- You will be the architect of our information, responsible for collecting, analysing, and sharing critical farm data. We want someone confident in using data—and increasingly Artificial Intelligence—to enhance farm management, analytics, and operational outreach.
- You will be the bridge between the farm and the public. Whether it’s through weekly website updates, social media, or leading Demonstration Days, you will communicate progressive practices to farmers, rural professionals, and the wider urban community.
- Alongside the Farm Manager, you will work directly with St. Peter’s School to provide authentic learning opportunities. Your role is vital in promoting agri-business and agri-science to the next generation of industry leaders.
The Role Reporting to the Head of Commercial & Operations, you will oversee the strategic direction of this 142ha joint venture between St. Peter’s School and Lincoln University. Supported by industry partners like Fonterra, DairyNZ, Westpac, PGG Wrightsons and Ravensdown, you will ensure Owl Farm remains a relevant model for sustainable and profitable production.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing farm systems that lead to sustainable profits in conjunction with partners.
- Executing proactive communication and engagement strategies.
- Acting as the secretariat for Farm Governance and Management Committees.
- Managing financial budgets and reporting on operational variances.
About You You are a self-starter who balances technical agricultural expertise with outstanding communication skills.
Your qualifications should include:
- A tertiary degree in Agricultural Science, Agri-Business, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- At least 3 years in the dairy sector with a proven understanding of farm systems and sustainability.
- A strong desire to upskill in AI to support data analysis and extension of new technologies.
- Confidence in managing diverse relationships, from iwi and regional councils to school staff and industry partners.
