We are seeking a Financial Accountant to join our dedicated team. You will contribute to the smooth running of a thriving school, supporting our students and staff behind the scenes and be part of a collaborative and purpose-driven environment.
As Financial Accountant, you’ll play a key part in the day-to-day financial operations of the school, with a focus on:
Financial Reporting & Accounting
- Supporting budget monitoring, cost centre reporting, and variance analysis
- Preparing monthly journals, reconciliations, and assisting with audits
Payroll - Coordinating with payroll provider to ensure timely and accurate payroll
- Managing payroll records, processing journals, and reconciling accounts
- Responding to payroll enquiries and ensuring compliance with legislation
Accounts Receivable - Timely billing and receipting of student fees
- Maintaining accurate debtor records and managing overdue accounts
- Working closely with parents and staff to resolve billing queries and enhance collection processes
Accounts Payable - Processing invoices and payments in line with school policy
- Liaising with vendors and internal teams to resolve discrepancies
- Ensuring accurate and organised record-keeping
Process Improvement & Compliance - Identifying and implementing improvements to financial processes and systems
- Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and school policies
- Supporting risk management and strategic finance initiatives
Experience and Skills - Ideally a degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (CA or CPA preferred but not essential)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a financial/accounting role.
- Education or not-for-profit sector experience is a plus
- Solid understanding of accounting principles, payroll, and compliance
- Strong Excel skills (medium to advance) and proficiency with accounting software
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills
- A collaborative, proactive approach and the ability to work independently
