What's the Role:

You are more than a manager, you’re a leader who inspires, motivates, and brings out the best in your team. As the Operations Lead at our Mt Thorley site, you’ll take ownership of the full operations lifecycle, ensuring safe, high-quality, and cost-effective production in a fast-paced heavy fabrication environment.

You are someone who thrives in a people-first leadership role. You lead with purpose building a culture of trust, accountability, and continuous improvement. You coach and mentor your team, create clarity on expectations, and actively develop capabilities to build a high performing, engaged workforce.

While you bring solid knowledge of production, quality control, supplier coordination, and maintenance, it’s your leadership presence that sets you apart. You lead by example walking the floor, connecting with people, and driving daily operational success through collaboration and clear direction.

You work cross-functionally with Sales and Product Development to ensure alignment between customer needs and production outcomes. You provide visibility through regular reporting, monitor operational metrics, and take proactive action to ensure we meet delivery and financial goals.

This is a role where you can make a real impact not just on the numbers, but on people, culture, and the way we work.

This role is based in Mt Thorley.

What You Bring

• Proven experience leading operational teams in a heavy manufacturing or engineering environment.
• A passion for developing people and building team capability.
• Strong commercial acumen with a clear understanding of production processes and continuous improvement.
• Tertiary qualifications in Management, Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
• Engineering Trade qualification (preferred).
• Understanding of sales processes and how to align them with operational capacity.

This role is based in Mt.Thorley
