What's the Role:

You are an experienced Applications Engineer who thrives on providing high-level technical support and innovative solutions to meet customer requirements. With a strong understanding of customer issues, you communicate effectively with the Senior Design Engineer to ensure project success. Your role involves sourcing engineering inputs and contributing to the development of cost-effective, technically sound solutions.

You will engage in innovative opportunities that help shape project priorities. Your responsibilities will include contributing to capital expenditure applications, reviewing customer specifications, and offering vital input to Senior Design Engineers to ensure customer satisfaction and alignment with project goals.

You are a skilled designer who ensures concept designs meet product standards and leverages CAD tools to create models and drawings that align with project briefs. Your role involves assessing existing designs for reuse potential, conducting clearance checks, and incorporating Safety in Design principles into all product modifications and new developments.

You are a hands-on engineer committed to validating and releasing designs with meticulous attention to detail. This includes conducting product trials, generating CAD models and maintenance manuals, and supporting design reviews with technical presentations. You will also investigate product failures and provide feedback to improve our offerings.

As a proactive communicator, you will support the sales team, capture market insights, and ensure timely responses to customer inquiries. Balancing technical expertise and customer focus, you will efficiently manage tasks, safeguard intellectual property, and drive the successful implementation of innovative and cost-effective solutions.

Key Technical Criteria:

Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, or equivalent relevant industry experience.
CAD qualifications are desirable.
Proven experience in heavy manufacturing, foundry, or mining environments.
Familiarity with ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
Ability to read and interpret engineering documents, including drawings, specifications, and CAD models.

This role is based in Johannesburg, SA.
