What's the Role:
At Bradken, we are proud to deliver innovative, high-quality engineered products for the mining and industrial markets. We are currently seeking an experienced Design Engineer to join our APAC mill liner design team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in designing and engineering our mill liner products and services, providing technical support to internal and external customers, and driving continuous product improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform design and engineering for new and existing products, including solid modelling, detailed drafting, analysis, simulation, and reverse engineering.
- Provide technical support to the sales team and directly to customers, ensuring a thorough understanding of customer requirements and site-specific challenges.
- Attend customer sites to conduct inspections, gather data, and provide technical support during installations and ongoing product performance monitoring.
- Coordinate new and optimised product development through engineering and manufacturing processes, ensuring alignment with Bradken’s standards and timelines.
- Prepare and manage technical documentation, including manufacturing specifications and user documentation.
- Check drawings and models to ensure compliance with engineering requirements and drawing standards.
- Control and issue all technical documents required by manufacturing and sales, as well as the release of Bradken intellectual property associated with licensing agreements.
- Support continuous improvement efforts, contributing to internal and external standards and procedures, while adhering to relevant Australian and international quality and manufacturing standards.
- Provide training and maintain up-to-date design knowledge to support sales, manufacturing, and engineering initiatives.
- Assist with equipment quotations, capital expenditure (CAPEX) development, and changeover to new designs for superseded parts, collaborating with order processing, inventory, and sales teams.
Key Technical Criteria: - Tertiary degree in Engineering (Mechanical or related discipline).
- CPEng qualification is highly regarded.
- Experience working within mining or heavy manufacturing environments.
- Proficiency in CAD (preferably Unigraphics NX or similar), including 3D modelling and 2D drafting.
- NX and Teamcenter PLM experience is desirable.
- Experience with DEM, MBD, and ANSYS FEA simulation software is a plus.
- Experience with scan processing, reverse engineering, and inspection tools like Polyworks, Geomagic is a plus.
- Knowledge of mineral processing processes and mill liner design would be well regarded.
