The SEC is building an enterprising and dynamic team to accelerate Victoria's transition to renewables and help achieve Victoria's renewable energy target of 95% by 2035. We are working together for renewable, affordable, reliable energy for all Victorians.
Your role
As an Operations Manager within our Consumer Energy Solutions business unit, you will play a significant role in ensuring the smooth execution of daily activities within the SEC. You will oversee the operational aspects of the business unit, working closely with other internal departments to ensure efficiency and effectiveness as we deliver products and solutions to help electrify Victoria.
You will report directly to the GM, Delivery and Operations, and work collaboratively to build out the Operations function, including processes and supporting teams, in readiness for the SEC launch of the One Stop Shop for Home Electrification launching in early 2026.
This role can be based in either our Melbourne CBD office or our regional office located in Morwell.
Some of what you will do:
- Work with internal stakeholders to identify, prioritise and successfully plan for consumer and installer experience as part of One Stop Shop delivery.
- Develop appropriate internal policies and processes for consumer centric organisation to proactively ensure that customer requirements are met or exceeded.
- Cross functional business engagement to facilitate communication between business units to enable compliance with industry standards and regulations and to enable escalation pathways for consumer queries.
- Lead customer facing internal teams across multiple sites to support and respond to SEC customers throughout their electrification journey.
- Develop and maintain industry best practice quality assurance regime of all installation partners.
- Ensure operational compliance with all customer facing regulatory requirements from ESC, ACCC and other designated regulatory bodies.
- Build out the Quality Assurance function, processes and team from an operational standpoint in readiness for the SEC One Stop Shop for Home Electrification. Develop appropriate internal training and knowledge base related to residential and community scale electrification projects.
Who you are: Must Have Experience: - Solid previous experience in customer service, managing and leading a team in a complex environment.
- Successfully identifying and addressing business process requirements based on consumer and business needs.
- Basic understanding of the energy transition and where opportunities to deliver solutions for residential consumers exist.
- Experience managing customer support processes from end to end.
- Previous working experience in the energy or utilities (telco, water) industry areas of customer connection, design, and/or construction / operations
- Experience managing a high performing team with the ability to work within and understand regulatory obligations.
Highly Desirable: - Experience managing complex stakeholders.
- Successfully managing across internal functions.
- Experience presenting to senior stakeholders.
- Previous Operational experience in a leadership capacity
