Do work that makes a difference The SEC is building an enterprising and dynamic team to accelerate Victoria's transition to renewables and help achieve Victoria's renewable energy target of 95% by 2035. We are working together for renewable, affordable, reliable energy for all Victorians.
Your role As a Senior Manager, Funding and Financing at SEC, you will play a key role in securing the funding needed to support our operations and investment activities. Reporting to the Head of Funding Planning and Strategy, you will help shape funding strategies, support major financial initiatives, and provide strategic advice to internal stakeholders.
This role can be based in either our
Melbourne CBD office or our regional office located in
Morwell.
What you will do: - Business and Investment Planning: Support the development of SEC's business and investment plans by providing financial insights and expertise to strengthen decision-making and overall effectiveness.
- Funding Strategy and Financial Analysis: Provide strategic funding advice to support investment and commercial operations. Analyse cost, revenue, and financial impacts of business cases to inform sound financial decisions and manage risk.
- Strategic Contribution and Forecasting: Contribute to the delivery of SEC's broader organisational strategy through effective funding planning, ensuring long-term financial self-reliance. Maintain oversight of future cash flow projections and funding requirements.
- Financial Modelling and Insights: Own and maintain the corporate financial model to support planning and investment decisions, and present key insights and scenarios to senior leadership in a clear, strategic narrative.
- Project Leadership and Product Delivery: Lead or contribute to high-profile, sensitive initiatives within a dynamic team environment. Deliver high-quality work with integrity, resilience, and a strong sense of accountability and trust.
- Inclusive Culture and Safety: Promote cultural safety by fostering inclusive, respectful, and discrimination-free environments where all individuals feel safe, valued, and empowered to participate.
Who you are: Must Have Your capabilities and areas of expertise that matter most for this role are: - Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of funding and financing, tax, and accounting in both government and corporate contexts.
- Proven experience in financial planning, modelling, and strategy development.
- Demonstrated leadership in high-performing teams, with a collaborative and results-driven approach.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and decision-making skills, with a commitment to cultural safety and inclusion.
Highly Desirable - Ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments and contribute to strategic initiatives.
- Experience across both public and private sector financial environments.
- Knowledge of government funding mechanisms and commercial investment structures.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks relevant to government-owned corporations.

This includes an initial $1 billion towards delivering 4.5 gigawatts of power through renewable energy and storage projects - the equivalent replacement capacity of coal-fired power station Loy Yang A, which is set to close in 2035.
The SEC will also play an important role in helping Victorian households to reduce their energy bills and emissions by offering simple and effective solutions to help them switch to electric.
