Your role As a
Security Architect within our Technology and Data team, you be responsible for providing security expertise and increasing SEC’s cyber security profile through the execution of our cyber security strategy and raising awareness of security across SEC business units.
The focus of the role will be on developing and implementing a fit-for-purpose technology governance framework for SEC to manage compliances and risks. This will include managing the implementation of cyber security initiatives in alignment with the SEC cyber security strategy and provided assurance reporting to senior management. You will complete cyber security risk reporting for executive risk committee, and industry frameworks to track changes in risk profile and cyber security maturity level. In addition, you will develop positive relationships across all SEC business units including knowledge sharing on technology risks.
This role can be based in Melbourne or Morwell. What you will do – Core Accountabilities include: Security Architecture – Maintain an enterprise security architecture view across SEC technology landscape
Security Assessments – Perform security assessments and capture outcomes for SaaS applications procured by SEC and perform regular monitoring of SEC landscape for changes in security profile. Provide expert advice to SEC business units and project teams on information security architecture, solutions and controls.
Security Standards - Develop and maintain security patterns and guidelines to promote reuse of security services. Provide specialist knowledge to Solution Design Authority and vendor designs to ensure alignment with SEC security standards.
Collaboration - Collaborate closely with SEC technology and corporate risk teams to with cross-functional teams to proactively managing identified risk of the solutions' risk posture within SEC’s risk appetite and ensure compliance.
Identity & Access Management: Review and implement initiatives to streamline SEC’s user onboarding and offboarding processes, driving adoption of access management solutions such as single sign-on (SSO), federated identities, multi-factor authentication (MFA), and privileged account management.
Threat Management – Implement a framework and facilitate regular evaluations to perform threat and vulnerability assessments across SEC technology landscape. Engage with SaaS vendors to identify changes to their security profile and patching/enhancement requirements.
Who you are: Must Have: Your capabilities and areas of expertise that matter most for this role are:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in technology with at least 5 years’ experience in security architecture roles.
- Experience in conducting security risk assessments and advising on risk mitigation strategies.
- Ability to document superior security architectures and security risk assessments.
- Knowledge of IT security principles associated with networks, operating systems, firewalls, databases and Identity and access management with specialisation in one or more of the above fields.
- Strong knowledge of Australian Energy Sector Cyber Security Framework (AESCSF)
- You will have, or are working towards a security certification such as CISSP or SABSA or similar.
