Your role As a
Test Analyst within our Technology and Data team, you be responsible for coordinating all releases and changes into SEC’s production systems, ensuring thorough documentation, and working closely with business stakeholders to capture test scenarios and results.
The focus of the role will be on developing a testing framework and tools to managing releases into SEC production environment. This includes co-ordinating testing for multiple releases across SEC core applications. You will develop positive relationships across all SEC business units and collaborated closely on user acceptance testing. In addition you will present at the Change Advisory Board (CAB) and contribute to process improvement for testing application releases.
This role can be based in Melbourne or Morwell. What you will do – Core Accountabilities include: - Coordinate and manage all release and change activities into SEC production systems.
- Develop, maintain, and ensure the accuracy of test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
- Collaborate with SEC business teams and application owners to capture and document test scenarios and results.
- Present test documentation and results to the SEC Change Advisory Board (CAB) for review and approval.
- Execute test cases, report defects, and ensure issues are resolved in a timely manner.
- Monitor and track the progress of testing activities, ensuring alignment with project timelines and objectives.
- Continuously improve testing processes and methodologies to enhance the quality and efficiency of testing efforts including automation.
Who you are: Must Have: Your capabilities and areas of expertise that matter most for this role are:
- Proven experience as a Test Analyst or in a similar role within a technology team and working with business teams through User Acceptance Testing.
- Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Experience with test management tools (e.g., JIRA).
- Excellent documentation and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
Highly Desirable - Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field.
- Knowledge of Australian Energy Market rules and procedures.
