Your role As
Change and Release Manager within our Technology and Data team, you be responsible for establishing the Change and Release model within SEC, oversee all changes and releases into production systems to support a continuous improvement delivery cycle.
The focus of the role will be on establishing the technology Change & Release framework within SEC utilising service desk solution to provide auditability of approvals. It will develop a release calendar across all SEC SaaS applications and established communication channels to SEC business teams to ensure awareness of all releases. The role will also develop a strong rapport with SaaS vendors to support release and environment changes. This includes implementing an environment management plan and controls to ensure non-production environments support testing and change management processes.
This role can be based in Melbourne or Morwell. What you will do – Core Accountabilities include: Change Leadership – Design, implement and chair SEC CAB meetings, ensuring changes are assessed for risk, impact and compliance before deployment in alignment with SEC ITSM framework. Ensure that change approval is provided before any activity that requires this, for example before a release is deployed to a live environment.
Release Management – Maintain a comprehensive change & release schedule across SEC and implement a plan to effectively communicate product deployments with impacted business units. Plan and coordinate all resources needed to build, test and deploy each release, including resources from other functions such as technical management or application management.
Environment Management – Develop and maintain an environment plan providing an accurate view of environments across SEC and co-ordinate environment refreshes with SaaS vendors.
Vendor Management – Collaborate closely with SaaS vendors to manage release cycles, deployments into SEC UAT environments and maintain a view of application roadmaps.
Continuous Improvement – Advocate for continuous improvement leveraging extensive experience and driving enhancements in processes and practices.
Who you are: Must Have: Your capabilities and areas of expertise that matter most for this role are:
- Solid understanding of the ITIL processes and tools
- Proven experience of leading Change & Release Management capabilities within a medium size organisation.
- Demonstrated experience to implement robust change and release management processes including chair change advisory board (CAB)
- Experience managing environments and release schedules within a multi-vendor SaaS technology environment
- Previous experience in effectively managing multiple stakeholders and driving continuous improvement across change & release processes
- Strong communication, leadership & people management skills.
Highly Desirable - Experience working within the energy sector
- Experience working with Tally or Technology One Saas products
- Incident management experience
